Project B06 – RNA methylation driven control of transposable elements and chromatin during reprogramming and cellular transformation


N6-methyladenosine (m⁶A) is a key mRNA modification regulating RNA metabolism and cell fate. Using models for cellular reprogramming, we will investigate how METTL3 regulates in single cells cellular potency and the impact of m⁶A profiles of transposable elements on cellular reprogramming. In parallel, we will explore the functional significance of cancer-associated METTL6 mutations as well as novel links between the m6A machinery and histone modifications.
