Project B09 – Structure-function relationship of alpha-ketogluterate/iron dependent dioxygenases and epigenetic modifications of small non-coding RNAs
Dynamic regulation of epigenetic modifications is essential for cellular key processes. This proposal investigates the biological, functional and structural mechanisms of Fe2+- and 2-oxoglutarate (2OG/α-ketoglutarate)-dependent dioxygenases, a major class of enzymes involved in the removal of epigenetic marks, as well as epigenetic changes in micro RNAs, an important class of regulatory, small non-coding RNAs.
